We were a group of 5 couples The women were coming to Nanaimo for the District 8 Zonta Seminar and brought our husbands along to play. The home was spacious with plenty of room for us all. The guys did a great job picking out great spots for dinner, after our long day in our meetings. Apparently they had a good time at the house too. What happens in Nanaimo stays in Nanaimo. It was a wonderful adventure, made more enjoyable with such a comfortable place to stay. I would not recommend this Lakefront Terrace home for anyone with disabilities due to the many stars. We were a group of 8 senior biking friends The Lakefront Terrace Home was beautiful and spacious. Its central location was great for biking. The local trails and it was just a short drive to the ferry for further adventures. We enjoyed the decks and the ability to have a refreshing dip after a hot ride. More people can be accommodated when you are there as couples rather than singles. I would suggest the reading lamps be a welcome addition in each of the bedrooms. Definitely not a place for anyone who has difficulty with stairs, as it is built into a hillside on the lake. Our host was most gracious and we enjoyed our time spent with her and her willingness to share local knowledge. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to spend time in the area. The home was very well equipped Kitchen seasoning; utensils and cutlery were enough for 14+ people. It’s close to malls and supermarkets. Canoes, row boat and paddle boat were available to use for free. Wi-Fi was very good. Owner was super helpful and nice and ready to refill supply and answer any questions. Travel info was available in the home. Beds were very comfortable. We have 4 bathrooms for 14 people which were plenty. It was a great weekend and we would definitely go back another time. Great for our intergenerational group 5 of 5 Stars! I hosted my three adult children and their families. The venue was perfect for our intergenerational group. We stayed at the Garden Paradise Home. The family with a baby and a toddler located in the master bedroom and had lots of space for their needs. It was a quiet space for their early bedtime and they were able to rise early in the morning and access the kitchen and family room without waking the teenagers who wanted to sleep much later! The pool table was kept in use every day from the time we arrived home from our outings until the last teenager went off to bed. We used all the decks for eating and visiting and even got down in the yard with the little ones. The kitchen was very well set up for our large numbers and efficient for group cooking. We used the dining room table for breakfast and the little ones had all their meals there because of the need for special chairs for them. There were lots of table spaces and variety to where you could choose to eat! We picked a week that was very hot every day so we really appreciated the air conditioning. Easy to work with and very responsive Very spacious, clean, full equipped. There are two wonderful patios for relaxing and enjoying the waterfront view. Karin and her team are very easy to work with and very responsive. Andie T (Carrolton, Texas) August 4, 2016
Golf Buddies Trip 5 of 5 Stars! We are a group of eight senior men who are school friends that go on an annual golf trip. This year we travelled to Vancouver Island and stayed at this vacation rental home in Nanaimo. Karin was a wonderful host and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The home is situated on Long Lake and is excellent for swimming, water skiing or kayaking. The patio/deck overlooks the lake and was a relaxing way to enjoy the afternoon and evening after a strenuous day on the links. We highly recommend this home for a trip such as ours and we will definitely be back. Carl N (Vernon, British Columbia) August 2016
Awesome home, great location … perfect in every way 5 of 5 Stars Family of five travelling from Seattle with the family dog found this property to be the perfect holiday get-a-way. The photos and property description are accurate. Owner (Karin) was responsive and helpful; reservations were easy and straight-forward. She met us at check-in and briefed us on the home and the area. The home is warm and inviting, well-appointed and will sleep many. The kitchen has high-end appliances and the BBQ grill on the back deck is a plus. This house is on Long Lake, with a small dock. We took our small boat (14-feet, 50 HP) and had a blast tooling around the small lake. As an added bonus my 10-year-old and I caught many sizeable Rainbow Trout (2-3 pounds) and they were tasty! Loudon Park, just next door, has an excellent swimming beach and the water is clean and clear. Spent one day tripping up to Coombs, MacMillan Provincial Park and Englishman’s River Falls – all within an hour’s drive. Also nearby is Piper’s Lagoon Park – great hiking; and, of course, Nanaimo’s beautiful waterfront and harbor. We came away very pleased. Thank-you, Karin! Your property is awesome! Views were beautiful! We stayed at the Lakefront Terrace house when my family came to visit from the UK. It was perfect for our group of 10 (6 adults & 4 kids). Views were beautiful and the kids loved the lake (especially the rope swing that the neighbor kindly let them use) Loved the kayaks! It was great to be able to get around the lake and take in the views. Karin was awesome! We wanted to tour as much of the island as we could. She gave us advice on places & attractions to visit. She also loaned us a walker for my father who has severe arthritis. She took time out of her day to come to take a family photo of us all. My advice on the pricing would be to set the nightly price on 5 person occupancy. It’s unlikely less than this amount would be looking to rent a place with 5 bedrooms. It’s a great central place to stay for touring the island. Highly recommended! Becky L (Kelowna) July 2016
The accommodations were first class 5 of 5 Stars We enjoyed our stay immensely. There were 12 family members who travelled to Nanaimo for a wedding. The accommodations were first class! We did not feel crowded and had lots of space to gather. The scene from the living room was exquisite. Karin was very accommodating and provided us with an early check in. Nice house! This is a beautiful house in a very convenient location. It’s clean and has everything we need to spend a few days with our friends. Anne Y (Calgary, Alberta) July 2016
Stunning property & excellent family holiday 5 of 5 stars we were visiting family in Vancouver and choose the Lakeside home due to size, location and how beautiful it looked on the website. Let’s just say that none of us were disappointed, in fact we were all truly amazed by our weekend retreat. It was big enough to accommodate all 10 of us including 2 babies. The older children loved the lake & water sports. The house is well equipped so there was no need to head out for food unless you really wanted to. Bbq on hand and great weather added to our fabulous weekend. Anyone looking for a gorgeous large home to stay in for any amount of time should consider contacting Karin, great customer service for a stunning property. Thanks. Amazing and a perfect fit 5 of 5 Stars Amazing, a perfect fit!! In Nanaimo to help my father celebrate his 90th birthday. Karin provided us an oasis for my family to relax and rest at the end of each day. We are three families so it was great to be together but still have our own space. We will be back!
